My Friday rant.

This is going to be short and to the point.....I saw news footage last night showing tens of thousands of ‘refugees’ on the march across Europe.  One thing I noticed is the lack of women, children and old men.  Yes, there were a few, but very few.  I wondered why in the hell aren’t all those young men fighting for their country?  There are resistance fighters that would gladly welcome the help from all those young me.  Don’t they have anything worth fighting for?  If they don't care about their own country why the hell should I?  Why should our military die for something they are not willing to die for?  Where did they leave the women and children and why the hell did they leave them?  To what fate?  If their own country isn’t worth fighting for why should I give a damn about them?  The means for change is in their hands not mine.

Then I started thinking about the President wanting to bring in a total of over 100,000 "refugees".  Beyond the obvious danger of doing that, how are they getting here?  Can't swim and they are all broke.  So, at $300 each or so it comes to $30,000,000.00 to get them here.  Who do you think is picking up that tab?  You have feeding them, many will require 'special' diets, clothing them, medical care, shelter and on and on.  Who do you think is picking up that tap.  All that is just to get them to our country.  The cost is piling up and they still need to be taken and settled someplace.  Then fed, clothed, housed and doctored till they get a job.  Who will hire a 'refugee' at a living wage with no skills other than goat herding and cannot speak English?

We need to wake up quick and separate our heart from our head.

Where has the last 25 years gotten us?

Just where has the last 25 years or so of educating our K-12 and University students taken us?  I was taught to read books and was expected to.  I was taught what numbers mean and how to add, subtract, multiply and divide them as well as some algebra and geometry and was expected to know how to do the calculations.  I was taught basic health education.  I was taught sciences, the history of the world, geography, where capitol cities of a country were and American history.  I was taught where all the states were and what their capitol cities were and could point them out on a map with no names.  I was taught how to use a checkbook and balance it, figure credit percentages and how much money credit costs.  I was taught respect for adults, my peers, law enforcement and the flag.  Also, the why those things deserve respect.  I was taught the Constitution, Bill of Rights, the three branches of Government why there are three and the importance of them all.  I was given physical education, running, jumping and playing games.

While writing the above I realized how much at my age I have forgotten but I do know all that was just K-12, and in College it really started to pile up.

Just where has the last 25 years of education taken our Country?

If you can find someone to blame it's not your fault.
How you feel is more important than gaining knowledge.
Police are bad, kill them.
The drug culture is now part of everyday life.
Rioting and anarchy are good.
Respect and honesty gets you nowhere, today it's lying and cheating.
Hard work barely keeps your head above water.
Teaching kids the value of a dollar with a minimum starting wage is bad.

All these changes have been observed by a lot of people in the country and I'm sure it makes them angry.  Not the 'angry white male' former President Bill Clinton recently spoke about.  But a whole lot of people who are saddened, worried and some just plain folks are angry at the direction our Country is going.  Because of that one heck of a lot of people decided to try a different route.  It may or may not work but at least they are trying and they realize the consequences of maintaining the status quo.

Coming soon; "Respect is as respect is given".  I'm giving you a heads up so you can learn the meaning of the word 'Respect'.

...makes you go hummmmm.

Normally I would only put up here what I am thinking.  However a friend of mine, thanks Allen, sent me this.  Since it is Presidential primary season this seems to me to be appropriate.  This might cause a person to think and consider something they have never thought of or considered.  Besides, there is nothing wrong about thinking and considering things.

Trump Explained

When was the last time you could vote for the ideal candidate?  I’m old, and I always voted.  I can’t remember ever thinking any candidate was ideal.  We always have two choices, usually Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber.  If you didn’t vote for one you got the other.  That’s just the way it is folks.

Now consider this interesting analogy.

You’ve been on vacation for two weeks, you come home and your basement is infestd with raccoons.  Hundreds of rabid, messy, mean raccoons have overtaken your basement.  You want them gone immediately so you hire a guy.  He’s a professional raccoon eradicator with a good 30-year record of eradicating raccoon’s.  You don’t care if the guy smells, you need those raccoons’ gone pronto and he’s the guy to do it!  You don’t care if the guy swears, you don’t care if he’s an alcoholic, you don’t care how many times he’s been married and you don’t care if he has plumber’s crack…you simply want those damn raccoons’ gone!  You want your problem fixed!  He’s the guy, he’s the best, period.

That’s why Trump, yes he’s a bit of an ass, yes he’s an egomaniac but you don’t care.  The country is in a mess because politicians are playing games and we are all sick and tired of Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber choices.  The Democrats are killing us, the Republican Party is gutless, Liberals don’t have a clue and illegals are everywhere.  You want it all fixed!

You don’t care that Trump is crude, you don’t care that he insults people, you don’t care that he had been friendly with Hillary, you don’t care that he’s been married 3 times, you don’t care that he fights with Megyn Kelly and Rosie O’Donnell, you don’t care that he doesn’t know the name of some Muslim terrorist.  This Country is weak, bankrupt, our enemies are making fun of us, we are being invaded by illegal’s we are becoming a nation of victims where every Tom, Ricardo and Hamid is a special group with special rights to a point where we don’t even recognize the country we were born and raised in and WE JUST WANT IT FIXED.  Trump is the only guy who seems to understand what people want.  You’re sick of politicians, sick of the Democratic party, the Republican party and sick of illegal’s and societal sponges.  You just want this thing fixed.

Trump may not be a saint, but no person or company he has ever done business with has come forward and called him corrupt or hard to do business with.  He doesn’t have lobbyist money holding him, he doesn’t have political correctness restraining him and he doesn’t have a political party pulling his strings.  All you know is that he has been well educated at the University of Pennsylvania business school, seems to have boundless energy, has been very successful, a good negotiator, built a lot of things and he’s not a cowardly, deceitful, professional politician.  And he says he’ll fix it.

You don’t care if the guy has bad hair.
You just want the raccoons out of the basement and out of your house!

NOW!!

We Would Like To Think Were Human....

After the usual morning over coffee, before the work day starts chat with the boss I started to ponder us humans.  We are not really that far up the ladder of civilization.  We humans are capable of the most horrid thing's imaginable, members of the human race can murder one another for thrills. We are capable of all sorts of cruelty on lesser animals of the world.  We can be greedy, self indulgent and totally useless to the rest of humanity.  We humans will destroy our habitat, poison our water and turn fresh air into a poisonous gas.
After all that I needed to stop and try to think how to make it better before it gets any worse, and maybe even correct some of it.  I started to think about when a lot of that sort of stuff started to happen.  Lot's of folks will always talk about 'The good ol' days'.  Ok, so when were those proverbial 'Good ol' days."?  Not sure if you can consider the industrial revolution the good ol' days.  That was the beginning of some terrible pollution of water, land and air.  Lets go back another hundred years.  Not then either, diseases that could not be cured, slavery and all sorts of problems of that time.
Like a lot of folk I really do think now are the good ol' days.  Only problem I can see with now is two things.  First off there are just too damn many people competing for a limited amount of resources.  Water being a prime example.  Second is our cradle to grave welfare thinking.  I'm really not sure how to solve number one without trying to control individual freedom (the most important thing a human can have).  The second, well just talk to any liberal.  There is a line of thinking that says everyone should be given everything they need to feel worthwhile, all the things a human needs to feel self worth and to contribute to not only themselves but to humanity in general.  Has that ever worked?  Or, has that just made it worse?
I'm starting to write myself into fits thinking.  So, I'm going to take a breather on this one and mull it all over for awhile.  If anyone has anything they can contribute to my thought pool feel welcome.  After awhile I might have more on this but for right now I'm in the 'Ant and the Grasshopper' camp.

It seems so damn simple

For years I lived along the Mexican/US border.  One time was in El Paso, TX where I was in the service, found my lovely wife of 46 years and our first daughter was born.  Part of the time I was a student at UT El Paso, go Miners.  My wife and I would spend a lot of time in Juarez Mexico for all sorts of things.  We bought groceries, went to dinner and dancing, the museums and sight seeing.  Juarez was a great city with great people, wonderful culture and a rich heritage.
As mentioned I went to college in El Paso.  There was one particular parking lot I used at the university that overlooked the Rio Grande down towards Smeltertown.  Almost every morning there was a Border Patrol car parked there watching the people wading across the river from Mexico to El Paso.  They were just watching to see who was coming across.  What all the crossers looked like were people coming over to do various day jobs or housekeepers or whatever.  They would get on a bus to wherever they were working in town and at night take the bus back to a border crossing and walk across the bridge to their home in Juarez.
Illegal immigration didn't seem that big of a problem, all people wanted to do was make more money than they could in Mexico and live at home with their families.  It was no big deal, no problems.
Occasionally you would see the white Boarder Patrol bus (bars in the windows like the Sheriff) full of people that for some reason were not welcome in the USA drive to the border crossing the doors would open and the people on it were headed South back into Mexico.  There were men mostly but also women and children on those bus's.
It was a good system.  No one came to the US for benefits because they didn't get any.  No one came for free college tuition because they didn't get it.  No one came to stay because they might get a one way ticket on the white bus forfeiting what they had acquired by illegal immigration.  No one came for anything but temporary work and then they went home.  Some women would come in to have their baby so it was an American citizen but overall, yes, it was a good system.
What ever happened to a good way of doing things?  Nobody is taken back or deported, well, they might be deported but all that means is they are just let out the courthouse door and it's 'assumed' they will somehow go back to where they were deported to.  Why have we let the system corrupt to a point where people who are caught coming in to this Country illegally are given what they came here for?
Instead of putting them on the white bus and hauling them back to the nearest border crossing and headed South they are flown to some far away American city and given all the rights's privileges and benefits of a US citizen.  It doesn't make any sense does it?  You can build a huge fence, or a moat full of alligators, mine field or whatever you want, as long as the benefits are worth the risk people will figure out a way.  What will keep people from coming in illegally and staying is, if there is NO reason to and the only reward was a one way ticket on the white bus.  I am the product of legal immigrants.  I am not against legal immigration the country needs a fair immigration policy and the immigrants it would produce.  I have friends all over the country that are sons and daughters of legal immigrants and they are as proud an American as am I.  Immigrations is not the problem the problem is illegal immigration.  By using some common sense and electing politicians who don't ride the swing back and forth trying to keep up with the way the wind is blowing it could be solved.

Just sayin'

After some subtle hints I decided not to clutter up Face Book with all my ranting's, theory's, nonsense and BS.  So, if your reading my occasional musings then it's your fault not mine.  Accept the fact that you might just want to hear what someone else thinks and that by opening up to lots of different opinions you might learn something..or not.  You might just laugh at the idiot because I will admit at time's I can get quite foolish.  But, like I said you didn't pay to get in and no one is twisting your arm.

After all that I might just tell you what living in Saudi Arabia is like, Or what having Cancer means.

There might be a lot of posts, might not, it depends on my mood and if I feel like typing a lot on my iPhone.  It's all totally up to me, I feel like a King in charge of my domain.  But feel free to comment on anything, since this is a blog the King can't have you beheaded or tossed on the rack.

Here is something I learned yesterday.  I was talking with a friend that had just spent some time in Oregon.  He was telling me that to alleviate the amount of money that was charged to an EBT card the state doesn't charge the deposit on bottles.  That helps the poor and down-n-outers.  Like everything they did find a scam.  Buy cases of water (its allowed with the EBT), go to the parking lot, pour out the water then go back in for the bottle deposit they never paid in the first place.  After a quick stop by the wine section for some Mad Dog or Thunderbird it's back to the blue tarp by the freeway to party with friends.  Our tax dollars at work, draw your own conclusions.
